2020.09.24 16:29 Minute_Sherbert_7958 American (in UK) wants to move to Germany but complicated situation + unsure about COVID restrictions?

Sorry for the throwaway but situation is complicated.
  1. I am an American currently living in UK
  2. There is a chance my visa will not be renewed and I need to leave soon
  3. I am the unmarried partner of a dual British/EU country citizen so they will have right to move around the EU even after Brexit
  4. We want to move to Germany if I have to leave
  5. I have done research and can see that there are rights for unmarried partners if you have proof of your relationship, and that in August Germany relaxed some COVID restrictions and allowed unmarried partners to 'join' their German resident/citizen partners in Germany
So my questions are:
  1. I know that Germany allows UK residents to come to Germany. Would I, as an American residing in the UK for a long time, still be allowed to come to Germany under this condition even if I am being asked to leave the UK due to my visa not being renewed? (Or maybe is the COVID ban on Americans only for Americans coming direct from America?)
  2. If I can't come to Germany as laid out in (1), then what do my partner and I need to do to be able to come to Germany? It says I can 'join' them in Germany, so do they have to move to Germany first and then I go? Or can we arrive together and that is seen as me 'joining' them when we move together?
  3. If I can come to Germany as a recent resident of the UK, what are my options for staying beyond 90 days? Can I get a freelancer visa? I am self-employed in a sector that is considered 'highly skilled' for immigration into Germany but I don't think I can get the Blue Card because I won't be applying for a German job.
Basically I can find a lot of info on Google but it's unclear with my particular situation + COVID complications what I can or can't do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2020.09.08 11:55 laurensuyin My story + Untangle Bereavement Support Service

Hello! Hoping this is allowed in here - I just wanted to share my story of bereavement and share a new community called Untangle Grief I've recently been working with, in the chance that it might help some of you too, to find it! Over the lockdown period in the UK built a free support group app, to match people in small moderated groups where they can safely discuss their loss with others who understand.
My dad died when I was 26, almost three years ago now. He was diagnosed with stage 2 lung cancer, he had various surgeries + chemo over the course of a year... but sadly it spread and developed to stage 4. He got very ill very, very quickly, and even though me and my mum knew he was seriously unwell - as a family we had all been trying our best to be as hopeful as possible that he would beat it, so in a way we decided to not think so much about the very realistic possibility that he would die, very soon. It was so shocking and traumatising to see how quickly he deteriorated. I guess this is one of the things about cancer that is just so, so awful and unfair.
His cancer metastasised to his brain, which was heartbreaking because it meant that as a family we couldn't have any form of conversation or final words together, the last thing he managed to just about say to me was 'I love you' before he was moved to the hospice for palliative care... he wasn't able to say anything to me or my mum before or after that sadly. It was truly horrible. When he died, I was distraught - he was more than my dad, he was also my best friend. And being younger, I didn't have many people around me who had a similar experience that I could talk to who understood truly, so felt very alone in it for a long time.
I tried out free counselling services with the NHS, but it only lasted 6 weeks (it was great to get that at all though!). I learned that the grief you feel following a bereavement is very much a weird journey, I had to sit through and experience so much pain, sadness and discomfort whilst missing him so deeply - it can be a very scary place to go in your head! My mum struggled to get her head around managing finances and suddenly having to learn all of these things with huge responsibility, now on her own having lost her partner and grieving heavily. It's so unfair that this is something that has to happen. I remember thinking 'WTF, why does no one tell you about all of this crap you suddenly have to deal with?! On top of trying to deal with the heaviness of your grief?!'
Basically - I wish something like Untangle existed when we as a family needed it three years ago! Whether its emotional support, financial help or legal advice, Untangle work to help provide the support that you need in your grief, to help you keep your head above water and not too bogged down by everything. They're a new initiative, run by two women who have both experienced grief and loss themselves. So sharing it here, incase anyone might feel they need an extra hand. <3

2020.08.25 15:23 boost_fae_bams An + plural exception?

Hello all
I recently got into a discussion (ok, it was an argument) with my partner whose native language is not English but still speaks to a near-native level while I am a native speaker (British English)
She commented on how wrong the grammar in a facebook post was - "...after spending an amazing nine years working here, finally I am leaving."
Her view was that "an" was wrong in this because indefinite articles only apply to singular nouns, quoting a grammarly article example - "he does an embarrassing things" as being wrong, which I agree with.
My disagreement is that I see it in this instance as "nine years" being the concept of the passing of time, which is singular, something like "an amazing period of time." Upon googling I can find plenty of examples of this usage, yet only in this sort of informal usage and nothing so scholarly as to seriously support me. I and others I know have used this format, so now I even doubt if it's not a regional error we make...
Who is right in this case? In the UK we have a famously bad grasp of grammar (we aren't actually taught any in school, my first encounter came with my attempt to learn a foreign language) but I consider myself quite well spoken, and yet my partner is very well versed in all things grammar being from Spain where they drill it from a young age.
Many thanks.

Headlines. A line designed to get into your head. And it works, judging by the amount of circulation of conspiracy posts that help move those headlines that masquerade as revealing connections, but are merely propoganda headline clones being disseminated.
So lets get ahead of the lines before the lines get into your head.
Humans have two primary modes of communication; verbal and nonverbal. Nonverbal is body language. Body language on it's own can give you insight. Pairing verbal and nonverbal gives you the whole picture. Headlines are verbal. The content is nonverbal. That's how you get a glimpse of the bigger picture. But we can't look at each article as a completed part of the communicative process. That would be like only watching hand gestures while having a conversation with someone. The article isn't the subject, the event is the subject, and if the subject was person, then we have to find as many articles as we can to profile the body language and interpret the nonverbal communication.
Let me show you what I mean.
Offender Conspiracy Article Profilingcriminal article profiling, is an investigative strategy used by law enforcement agencies conspiracy theorists to identify likely suspects hidden motives and has been used by investigators conspiracy theorists to link cases subjects that may have been committed by the same perpetrator. Multiple crimes may be linked to a specific offender event and the profile may be used to predict the identified offender's conspiracy's future actions real intent. Criminal Profiling Here
And then.
Nonverbal communication (NVC) Multiple Article Profiling (MAP) • is the transmission of messages or signals through a nonverbal platform multiple article content searches (MACS) such as eye contact, facial expressions, gestures, posture, and the distance between two individuals, article source, differing information, dates, pov, and the connections between the sources. It includes the use of visual cues such as body language (content), distance (dates) and organizations/politicians, corporations, law enforcement, environmental issues, economics, and technology/AI. Original NVC Content Here
I have no doubt that the actors who have advanced copies of the script are using data algorithm aggregation that compiles the different content sources into a complete picture for them. We plebs aren't so lucky, we have to peruse and parse multiple sources to connect the dots. In essence, we are the plebs living in a technofuedal era before the invention of the modern Gutenberg technopress for the masses.
So let's throw on some work boots, grab a shovel, and start digging.
The Hacks and Muckrakers.

Trump. The man's Presidency has come at a time where it's all starting to fall apart. And I can't help but think of Trump as Julius Caesar part two. A populist leader who threatened the establishment and upended the republic, paving the way for Augustus Caesar and the soft introduction of Roman empire, as it let the pretenses of being a Republic fade away. If you aren't familiar with that time of history, I would highly recommend doing so. There is more to my comparison that I'm not elaborating on, except to say, if you dig you will find someone else who loves Roman history, looks like a clone of Augustus, and we watched as he made rounds while articles suggested that he had aspirations of becoming President. Do I think that it'll happen soon? Probably not. History doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes. And we're only at the start of the Hollow Men by T S *Eliot *.
December 14, 2016: Techcrunch • President-elect Donald Trump met with some of the most prominent executives from the tech industry today at Trump Tower, with investor Peter Thiel and Vice President-elect Mike Pence at his side. Trump opened the meeting with CEOs from Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon and others by thanking Thiel for his support. “I want to add that I am here to help you folks do well. And you’re doing well right now and I’m very honored by the bounce. They’re all talking about the bounce. So right now everybody in this room has to like me, at least a little bit,” Trump said, perhaps in reference to the fact that he received little support from Silicon Valley during his campaign. “We’re going to try to have that bounce continue. Perhaps even more importantly, we want you to keep going with the incredible innovation. There’s nobody like you in the world. There’s nobody like the people in this room and anything we can do to help this go along, we’re going to be there for you. You’ll call my people, you’ll call me, it doesn’t make any difference. We have no formal chain of command around here,” Trump said.
Interesting, wouldn't you say? No formal chain of command around here. They thanked Peter Thiel for his support. Ok. Maybe nothing, maybe something. Ok. It's something.
August, 2018 Articles: • Trump claims Google is suppressing positive news about him. • Trump: Facebook, Twitter, Google 'have to be careful'.
Stop the presses, because were getting squeezed and pasteurized. The tech leaders meet with Trump. They thank Thiel, suggesting that he organized the assembly. And then Trump starts bashing the Technocrats that he's meeting with? Nothing but Bread and Circus. Plain and simple.
June 27, 2017: Tech Transparency Project • No other company in America was as intimately tied to the Obama Administration and the Democratic Party during Barack Obama’s eight years in office than Google. Today the company is doing everything it can to restore the same cozy White House access it enjoyed under President Obama. Eric Schmidt has attended at least two meetings with Trump and attended a third White House meeting with tech leaders last Monday. At the same time, The Groundwork – a secretive Schmidt-funded startup that ran the Clinton campaign’s data operation – recently relaunched itself as a technology platform for liberal organizations working to fight the Trump Administration’s agenda. By all appearances, Google appears to be working overtime to both ingratiate itself with the Trump Administration while simultaneously cashing in on the “resistance” to Trump’s agenda. Source Here
By all appearances? He's working both sides? Trying to cash in? Really? Seriously? Let's break that down.
** 2020 • Eric Schmidt/Net worth: 15.3 billion USD. Call me crazy, but I don’t think a guy with 15 billion dollars is worried about "cashing in**". As I've stated numerous times, this is no longer about money, it's about control. That's imperative to understand. You don't worry about the money hidden under the mattress when you have a locked vault full of cash. Money is only an incentive for those who either don't have it or need more of it. Neither of those categories apply to Eric Schmidt.
So lets examine how badly the Tech guys and Trump aren't getting along, shall we?
March 2, 2016: Defense News • Google Executive Schmidt To Head New DoD Advisory Board. Source Here
Ah. He's working for the Pentagon to make it better. And this happens almost a full year before meeting with Trump. This doesn't look like someone playing both sides, this looks like a team player in a game that only has one team. This is political wrestling that would make Vince McMahon envious. If you want to dive deeper into how Eric Schmidt funded the non profit that started fake news, here's a previous Flatten the Curve post. Part #19
Attendees included Eric Schmidt and Larry Page of Google, Tim Cook of Apple, Satya Nadella and Brad Smith of Microsoft, Jeff Bezos of Amazon (who expressed his excitement that Trump’s administration could be “the innovations administration“), Safra Catz of Oracle, Chuck Robbins of Cisco and Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook. Thiel’s business partner, Palantir CEO Alex Karp, attended as well.
Those are big names and big companies. But they all hate Trump, right?
Thiel has been instrumental in shaping Trump’s approach to technology, helping assemble a list of candidates for technical roles in the upcoming administration and reportedly bringing David Sacks and other long-time associates to the transition team. During his speech at the Republican National Convention, Thiel talked about spreading the prosperity of Silicon Valley to other regions across the country and cited space travel as one of America’s great technological achievements. “Instead of going to Mars, we have invaded the Middle East,” Thiel said.
I should point out that Thiel and Musk started PayPal together.
November 24, 2019: Business Insider • What do the founders of YouTube, Yelp, Tesla, and LinkedIn have in common? Apart from leading massively disruptive technology companies, their founders all share a common resume line item: employment at PayPal. Known for their entrepreneurial mindset and anti-establishment attitude, this elite group is known as the "PayPal Mafia," and they all put in time during the payment platform's early days some 20 years ago. Source Here
Oh. And Pete's instrumental to creating Facebook. Thiel became Facebook's first outside investor when he acquired a 10.2% stake for $500,000 in August 2004. He sold the majority of his shares in Facebook for over $1 billion in 2012, but remains on the board of directors. And he funded Hulk Hogan's lawsuit to take down Gawker. Told ya, it's just political wrestling to entertain us.
However, one of the biggest proponents of travel to Mars, Elon Musk, has also been one of Trump’s most outspoken critics. Musk donated to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and frequently denounced Trump, saying that the former reality television star “doesn’t seem to have the sort of character that reflects well on the United States.” But since the election, Musk appears to have warmed up to Trump. He was a late addition to the invite list for today’s meeting. The transition team also announced this morning that Musk will join Trump’s strategic and policy forum, a group of business leaders that will serve as an advisory committee to the president-elect. Source Here
Musk and Trump, a marriage made in heaven. It's destiny, I tell you, destiny. Or an act (don't worry Elon, I haven't forgotten about you) designed to make us believe that somebody up there is fighting for us down here.
Yet the inclusion of the quote about Mars and War in the Middle East stands out, wouldn't you agree? And we have environmental collapse triggers happening. Riots happening. Why those riots are also happening in Beruit, aren't they? And Isreal and Saudi Arabia don't get along with Lebanon, or the Hezbollah. And President Trump went from Suadi Arabia to Isreal, didn’t he? And wasn't there an explosion there recently? Must all be a coincidence. Let's get back to Pete the magical Thiel and see what else Hulk Hogan's buddy is mixed up in.
He co-founded Valar Ventures in 2010, co-founded Mithril Capital, serving as investment committee chair, in 2012, and served as a partner at Y Combinator from 2015 to 2017. Through the Thiel Foundation, Thiel governs the grant-making bodies Breakout Labs and Thiel Fellowship, and funds nonprofit research into artificial intelligence, life extension and seasteading. A co-founder of The Stanford Review, he is a conservative libertarian who is critical of high government spending, high debt levels, and foreign wars. He has donated to numerous political figures. At the 2009 Singularity Summit, he said his greatest concern is the technological singularity not arriving soon enough. Source Here
Singularity. Not. Arriving. Soon. Enough. Call me paranoid and pass the tin foil hat, but what Matrix code is needed to decipher his words intent? Not soon enough for what? Better Netflix selection? The Alien invasion? Godzilla awakening because of Fukushima? Are the Decepticons already here? Or have they been downplaying the ELE that's approaching? I'll take ELE for a thousand, Alex.
So he's into AI (he backed Deepmind and OpenAI) and life extension. He went to Stanford. He's also going to have his body cryonically preserved. And his Palantir surveillance is, well, nottofreakyououtoranything, everywhere. Palantir's first backer was the Central Intelligence Agency's venture capital arm In-Q-Tel. Then Palantir became Big Brother. Literally. The Palantir clients include the CIA, DHS, NSA, FBI, CDC, the Marine Corps, the Air Force, Special Operations Command, West Point, the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Organization and Allies, the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. And Palantir is also being used by Banks, Hedge Funds, Financial Services, and other corporate clients.
Big Brother wants to be Palantir went it grows up.
Now, are you wondering why I started with Trump, Saudi Arabia and Isreal? Are you curious about how it goes from ex CEO of Google Eric Schmidt "playing" both sides of the fence to Palantir and Peter Thiel? Just sit right back and hold tight, cause I'm about to take you on a one way trip to a Brave New Normal World that's called 1984.
Warning. What you're about to read will make you forever question every officially sanctioned narrative. Trust me. Still game? Are you sure? Last chance. You're about to leave neverneverland and you can't go back. Alright. Let's go.
It's All Hidden In Plain Sight.
Let's talk about Epstein. Yep. Him. I've been strangely quiet about Jeffery haven't I? Nothing written about the Captain Pedo and his Amazing friends didn't mean there was nothing there, it just meant that I didn't find anything that indicated something deeper than a pedophile blackmail ring. And sex and political blackmail is as old as time itself. There's a reason they say the world's two oldest professions are prostitutes and politicians. Yet it turns out the professional pimp and the abducted teens may be playing a bigger role than we thought.
July 31, 2019: NY TIMES • Mr. Epstein’s vision reflected his longstanding fascination with what has become known as transhumanism: the science of improving the human population through technologies like genetic engineering and artificial intelligence. Critics have likened transhumanism to a modern-day version of eugenics, the discredited field of improving the human race through controlled breeding. Mr. Epstein’s ranch in New Mexico, which he confided to scientists and others he hoped to use as the site for seeding the human race with his DNA.
Welcome to the Island of Dr. Moreau. We're it's the monsters trying to make humans. Do you still think this was all about blackmail, cause it wasn't. Stop thinking in normal terms, because normal is dead, long live the New Normal.
At one session at Harvard, Mr. Epstein criticized efforts to reduce starvation and provide health care to the poor because doing so increased the risk of overpopulation, said Mr. Pinker, who was there. Mr. Pinker said he had rebutted the argument, citing research showing that high rates of infant mortality simply caused people to have more children.
Epstein criticized efforts to reduce starvation and provide health care. Hmmmm. My memory is foggy, but isn't there someone in Africa trying to provide health care and reduce starvation? Who could that be? Wasn't he into computers and had pictures taken on Epstein’s private jet? Wasn't it Bill Gates? Now why would Billy be hanging around someone who would vocally espouse an ideology that is completely antithetical to his stated humanitarian goals?
Also at the Indian Summer dinner, according to an account on the website of Mr. Brockman’s Edge Foundation, were the Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page and Jeff Bezos, who was accompanied by his mother.
Then there was Mr. Epstein’s interest in eugenics. Once, at a dinner at Mr. Epstein’s mansion on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Mr. Lanier said he talked to a scientist who told him that Mr. Epstein’s goal was to have 20 women at a time impregnated at his 33,000-square-foot Zorro Ranch in a tiny town outside Santa Fe. Mr. Mr. Lanier, said he had the impression that Mr. Epstein was using the dinner parties to screen candidates to bear Mr. Epstein’s children. Mr. Epstein did not hide his interest in tinkering with genes — and in perpetuating his own DNA. Interviews with more than a dozen of his acquaintances, as well as public documents, show that he used the same tactics to insinuate himself into an elite scientific community, thus allowing him to pursue his interests in eugenics and other fringe fields like cryonics. One adherent of transhumanism said that he and Mr. Epstein discussed the financier’s interest in cryonics, an unproven science in which people’s bodies are frozen to be brought back to life in the future. Mr. Epstein told this person that he wanted his head and penis to be frozen.
More Epstein and Eugenics. Source Here
Now call me crazy, but there's some strangeness happening. Cryonics, don't die, just Let It Go and get Frozen. First Peter Thiel, now Epstein. Let's hope the AI Singularity arrives in time, right?
Now I wouldn't have even bothered with their shared interest of joining the Walt Disney Cryonics Club, if there wasn't more in play, and there's more in play.
August 9, 2019: TRT World • The billionaire shared the same personal network that included Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak, infamous Blackwater founder Erik Prince, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, UAE Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed, Donald Trump and Bill Clinton.
According to investigative journalist Vicky Ward, quoting a meeting with Trump’s transition team, Acosta told a White House official: “I was told Epstein ‘belonged to intelligence’ and to leave it alone.”
That's a bit of an exclusive club, kinda like being in the Mouseketeer CIA club. But, hey, nothing to see here, is there? But just in case, let's look into the company that Epstein worked with, Carbyne.
This single company, Carbyne, brought together a who’s who of power brokers and intelligence figures from multiple regions including Russia, China and the Trump administration itself, with Epstein at its heart. Officially, Carbyne provided high-tech solutions for emergency centres. In reality, it existed in a grey area giving it unprecedented access to private information, with significant potential for privacy abuse. Carbyne provides a service for police emergency centres, providing complete access to the caller’s camera and GPS, providing the dispatcher with a live video feed.
Ok. So Epstein and Thiel both are into AI, Surveillance, and Cryonics. President Trump was in Isreal and Saudi Arabia in May 2017. And who ended up in Isreal just afterwards?

Hey, one month after Trump visited the Middle East, Peter Thiel decides to take middle eastern vacation to give out business tips. SourceHere
Ok look. I get it. Rich people make investments, those investments are bound to end up in the same company. But these companies aren't exactly run of the mill home security systems, are they? Nope. This is the kind of surveillance systems that the KGB or the Stasi could only dream of. And when you wish upon a star dreams come true. And Peter Thiel must be wishing upon a star.
Ok. Strap in, buckle up, and try to keep up, or you're gonna get left in the dust. Cause it's boom or bust from here on out, and we're gonna add it up like the count.
So Elichai owns Carbyne. Peter Thiel invested in Carbyne. And Carbyne is in the USA linked to the 911 system, and it's being used to fight the pandemic.
Forbes (Link Above) • Its founder thinks Carbyne’s tech could make the lives of 911 dispatch and healthcare professionals much less chaotic in the Covid-19 crisis. Carbyne relies on callers submitting themselves to self-surveillance via their own mobile phone. Once a caller uses their Android or iPhone to call 911 (85% of emergency calls now come from mobile devices), they receive a text message that asks for permission to get their precise location and access video from their smartphone camera.
Step right up and give your permission to be saved. Big Brother is looking out for you.
So Elichai used to work for the 8200. Cool name, right. I'm not sure about you, but that sounds pretty dystopian. And I've gotta say, that all of Technocrats that are promising us an AI utopia, sure seem to be getting ahead of the curve by building doomsday bunkers for a dystopia. And here we sit wasting our time Doomscrolling.
So what else has sprung up from the 8200? Have you ever heard about the NSO Group?
November 1, 2019 - WhatsApp identified an Israeli company, NSO Group, as having developed the spyware called Pegasus, which it held responsible for the breach. This disclosure was part of a lawsuit WhatsApp has filed against the NSO Group in a US federal court, saying the company was actively involved in hacking users of the encrypted chat service. As per the WhatsApp complaint the “target users included attorneys, journalists, human rights activists, political dissidents, diplomats, and other senior foreign government officials.” NSO’s spyware Pegasus has been reportedly used to target journalists in Mexico investigating drug cartels, rights group Amnesty International, human rights activists in UAE, activists in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. According to Israeli news reports, Saudi Arabia paid $55 million for its use. The contract was later frozen over the scandal alleging NSO software's role in Saudi Arabia tracking slain journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the months before he was murdered in the Saudi Embassy in Turkey. In India, 17 people, who are known to be targeted include activists and human rights lawyers. Source Here
Whoops. Do you remember Jamal Khashoggi? He was trying to expose Human Rights abuses against Saudi Arabia. And then Suadi Arabia decided to murder him, and confirm that they were abusing human rights. Jamal paid the ultimate price to prove his point. But who is selling the hacking tools? At this point they all seem to be springing up from members of the 8200, and the companies they started.
TRT - Link Previously Provided • DarkMatter, a UAE surveillance and intelligence group employing former NSA operatives was built on the back of a larger initiative to modernise Emirati intelligence and military operations. The group took part in at the Arab Future Cities Conference in November 2015, where it presented a vision of smarter, tech-driven cities, which caught the eye of Chinese officials. Smarter cities meant Big Brother-esque widespread surveillance installed throughout the UAE. Only two years later in April 25 2017, DarkMatter signed a Global Strategic Memorandum of Understanding with Huawei, a leading Chinese company, for the same ‘Big Data’ systems and ‘Smart City’ solutions. The middle man? None other than Erik Prince, who had gone from working for the Emiratis, to working for a Chinese billionaire. In suspect timing, the Memorandum of Understanding also took place right before China scaled up its total surveillance and crackdown on Uighurs in Xinjiang, China.
February 2, 2019: Reuters • Xinjiang is a major part of China's Belt and Road infrastructure network but the region has faced attacks blamed on members of the Muslim ethnic Uighur minority. Beijing has responded with a security clampdown condemned by rights groups and Western governments. Frontier Services Group (FSG), a Hong Kong-listed company founded by Prince, said in a Chinese-language statement posted on its website on Jan. 22 that it had signed a deal to build a training centre in southern Xinjiang. Prince is deputy chairman, a minority shareholder and a board member of FSG, a security, logistics and insurance provider. Source Here

Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Aren't we condemning China for the camps, and yet the West is helping to build those camps? Must be a big mistake. We didn’t know what was happening. And Erik Prince swears he didn't know. Honestly. He's not lying. Cross my heart and hope to die. Pinky swear.
8200 leads to NSO and Carbyne. DarkMatter is in the UAE with NSA employees. The NSO hack was used to capture Khashoggi. Peter Thiel invested in Facebook, Facebook owns WhatsApp. Peter Thiel invested in Carbyne. Eric Prince works for and founded FSG, which built the Muslim reduction school. China is using similar tech to target Muslims and send them back to school. Carbyne 911 surveillance tech accesses your phone camera after you click on the link to give permission. So. Peter Thiel funds Carbyne. Eric Prince is working for the UAE developing security and the UAE ends up with Dark Matter, and then his company (FSG) is sold to China, and they build re-education centers, which uses technology like Carbyne, and that technology is being used in the USA.
Got it? Good. Because I'm seriously having a hard time keeping up with the behind the scene footage of this LARP.
Link Previously Provided • 1,400 people worldwide, including Indian lawyers, rights activists and journalist, were targets of an online spying campaign that used highly sophisticated spyware developed by an Israeli firm via WhatsApp. WhatsApp is at the centre of a global storm over privacy after it was revealed that at least 17 Indians and about 1,400 people worldwide had their phones breached through the social media app. Their privacy was compromised by surveillance technology so invasive that could read and transmit the entire contents of a phone as well as operate its camera.
WhatsApp, Doc, I think I need an appointment because I'm suffering from Mass Psychogenic Illness from too much Doomscrolling.
Do you want to get deeper? I mean really deep? Yes? Ok. Let's jump into the deep.
October 18, 2019: - How a WhatsApp Tax Launched Massive Anti-Government Protests in Lebanon.
What a crazy New Normal World Order we live in. What are the odds that we have a WhatsApp hack tax protest and we also have a WhatsApp hack that uses your phone camera, while also using similar tech in the USA and China. That's inconceivable! That's incredible! Someone call the press and let them know about this! Uhm. Wait. Better not. You might get Khashoggid.
So Eric Prince is involved. Peter Thiel is involved. WhatsApp is owned by Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg owns Facebook, and Peter Thiel helped Facebook grow. And then there was this.
March 28, 2018: Daily Mail • Employee of Peter Thiel's company Palantir helped Cambridge Analytica harvest the data of millions of the Facebook users. Alfredas Chmieliauskas is said to have suggested to Cambridge Analytica that it create a personality quiz smartphone app to get access to networks of Facebook users. The Times report also claims that Sophie Schmidt - the daughter former Google executive Eric Schmidt - had urged Cambridge Analytica to work with Palantir. Source Here
At this point, I think I'm going to need to buy a whole lot of tacks and string and make pciture maps on my walls. If we're all living in a Truman Surveillance Show, might as well play the part of the New Normal crazy conspiracy theorist, right?
January 17, 2017: The Intercept According to New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, in December Prince attended the annual “Villains and Heroes” costume ball hosted by Mercer. Dowd wrote that Palantir founder Peter Thiel showed her “a picture on his phone of him posing with Erik Prince, who founded the private military company Blackwater, and Mr. Trump — who had no costume — but joke[d] that it was ‘N.S.F.I.’ (Not Safe for the Internet).”
No. Sanity. Fracking. Involved. Is more like it. This insanity can't pass for sanity, can it? And yet they label us crazy when we start to find the big picture, even if we aren't entirely sure what the big picture means.
The Intercpt Continued: In July, Prince told Trump’s senior adviser and white supremacist Steve Bannon, at the time head of Breitbart News, that the Trump administration should recreate a version of the Phoenix Program, the CIA assassination ring that operated during the Vietnam War, to fight ISIS. Such a program, Prince said, could kill or capture “the funders of Islamic terror and that would even be the wealthy radical Islamist billionaires funding it from the Middle East, and any of the other illicit activities they’re in.” Prince also said that Trump would be the best force to confront “Islamic fascism.” “As for the world looking to the United States for leadership, unfortunately, I think they’re going to have to wait till January and hope Mr. Trump is elected because, clearly, our generals don’t have a stomach for a fight,” Prince said. “Our president doesn’t have a stomach for a fight and the terrorists, the fascists, are winning.” Source Here
Sounds good, right? Kill people who kill people and maybe someday we won't have people getting killed. Killer idea! HEWDSHAWT! Grab your BFG and let's go BGH. It's a date!
But then why are these cell phone surveillance hacks companies being constantly linked with their names, and those hacks are being used to target journalists and human rights activists?
It's a small New Normal World Order after all. And it's getting smaller everyday. No worries though, Keep Calm and Carry On, We're All In This Together, and You're Either With Us Or Against Us. It's all good. That kind of thing could never happen here.

That's a pretty long trail that I've written. Guess what? The trail goes longer. So long that this will have to be continued in a part 2 later tonight. Until then; Heads Up and Eyes Open.Take Care. Be Safe. Stay Aware and Be Prepared. Talk soon.

2020.08.14 17:11 helloooo121 22 [F4M] EU, anywhere - looking for a connection with someone who likes nature, discovering themselves, the gentler + calmer things in life, spirituality & more. cares about social justice. left-wing politically. if you might match please read on!

hey everyone!! :)
so I'm gonna be blunt and straightforward with what I want in this post and if you don't match it then that's ok. please continue to another post if so; we'll all find someone perfect for us eventually.
I'm going to describe exactly what I want to match on. I'll be putting the most important and serious stuff, like morals and viewpoints that I need to match up on at the start, and then go more into the hobbies and fun-type details later on.
so here we go.
I want to meet someone who: is a feminist. cares about women's rights/human rights, BLM, social justice, equal treatment and equality for all. is left wing + far from right wing. isn't racist, sexist, homophobic etc. avoids any videogames with sexualized female characters (such as league of legends and tons of other popular games) and just has no interest in them + finds them weird/gross. avoids any type of media with sexualized women, offensive humour, dark humour, sexual humour etc. doesn't use dark humour, offensive humour or sexual humour and has no interest in it. doesn't like/use porn. probably doesn't like anime in general or doesn't like any animes with any kind of thing implied in the list earlier (sexualized women/girls etc). someone who does/would only keep a friendgroup that matches all of this. (so wouldn't keep around a guy who's sleazy to girls or something because "oh he's harmless" or for any other reason. someone who keeps a friend circle that reflects them and their values and doesn't associate with those not in alignment with them.) passionate & caring about all these things and stands up for them when necessary.
I match all of these things too, so the list is basically who I want to meet + a description of me. it's all things that are very important to me so please only contact if you match it. as a note, I'm not always actively involved with politics but the left wing thing is important to me as it helps represent a set of values that I align with, so I'm looking for someone who feels the same.
I'm looking for someone who's around my age; I think my range would be 20-23. this is important too so please only contact if you're in this range. (as a side note, I'm actually turning 23 this month but yeah. I think my range is still 20-23 for now.)
as for hobbies/interests and things I like, I'm into astrology (very happy to calculate a birth chart for you and explain it!!), just started getting into yoga and slow living and loving them, slowing down to appreciate life, enjoying my time, finding myself, spirituality & fully finding my connection to it, journalling (the self care and self expression type), (getting into + back into) art, photography/taking pictures of things I like, nature, flowers, the night sky, the clouds, the sky in general, little bugs and critters you find outside like frogs, bees, butterflies etc (I'll probably send you pictures when I find them haha), walks, sometimes running/jogging, cooking and baking (am 95% vegan in diet at the moment and loving trying out lots of new recipes :D), self care and self love... things like that.
you obviously don't have to be the same on all hobbies, but I'd love to find someone also likes nature, slowing down, spirituality, self care, and the gentler, kinder things in life in general. I'd really like to share that kind of stuff with someone. you don't have to also be vegan/vegetarian but I obviously don't want to talk to anyone judgemental about it. I'm non-judgemental towards others always.
as a note, I see myself having children/a family in my future so can't be with anyone who's chosen to be childfree.
I'm 100% open to and expecting a long distance relationship at the start and for as long as need be, and am then open to meeting irl down the line when the virus is over, we feel right about it and have the funds etc.
as the title says, I'm in/around EU but am happy to talk with anyone from anywhere, especially if we're a huge match. so please don't hesitate! I'm actually in the UK but still say EU because idk, I didn't/don't agree with brexit and also don't have an accent lol so idk if I line up with here much. I do see myself continuing to live here for the foreseeable future but yeah. again, happy with and open to anyone from anywhere. :)
oh and I wanted to say, if I came across as pretty serious in this post, I'm not really like that all the time haha. just with things that I'm passionate about, which is mainly what I've talked about so far. it's hard to convey stuff like true personality and especially sense of humour in a post like this, but I'm actually often fun-loving, loud sometimes, love making jokes and being silly with friends etc. so yeah. :) I guess you can see that about me when we get to talking but I thought I'd mention it in this post since it's an important part of me and I'd love to find someone who also likes to have fun and isn't totally serious or philosophising all the time (though there is a place for that stuff in my life and relationships). I'd like to think I'm a good mix of grounded & calm as well as very into joking around, maybe doing stuff like playing co op videogames together and having lots of fun in them, being spontaneous sometimes, stuff like that. again, it's really hard to define and/or show that kind of thing in a post haha but hopefully you get the idea, and can see that kind of thing when we get to talking.
on a more serious note again, if I were to define what I want out of a relationship, it's to find my true equal and counterpart. a partner in a relationship way as well as in life. someone who I really respect and they really respect me. a best friend. someone who's really similar to me and we get along so easily. someone to give and receive love and support with. someone who isn't big on gender roles, gendered words/expectations and other confining things like that. someone who would see me as "their person" and I would do the same for them. someone who is big into self love and self respect and cultivating those things. all that kind of stuff. and of course, someone to have fun with. just thought I'd get specific on that kind of thing, to help increase the chances of finding someone who really matches and feels the same way.
I'd like to become friends first, and to learn about each other and see if a romantic and deeper connection grows out of it. I think that's a pretty normal approach but wanted to define it anyway.
so yeah! if this post feels good to you, please reach out. please let me know your age, why you think we'd get along, what resounded + resonated with you, maybe where you're from (so we can think about timezones and stuff), and anything else you wanna add. we'll take it from there. please don't hesitate to reach out, even if you're shy and/or reserved. I can carry a conversation pretty well if needed. :p just be sure to introduce yourself properly so I can get an idea of who you are and how well we might fit! if you were reading this and thinking, "wow, I feel exactly the same, I've been looking for someone who feels the same way," then that's a really good sign to reach out!!
that's it I guess. I'm excited to put this post out there and see what might come of it. thanks so much for reading, and hope to hear from you soon! bye for now!! :D

2020.08.07 16:26 Mailyk All of the news + research on synthetic biology from this week

Every week, I compile all of the research, news, and preprints from the field of synthetic biology. I really hope that people find this useful.

Good morning. This week…

Undark considered how gene editing could make meatier cows, STAT hosted a virtual CRISPR event with Alexis Thompson and David Liu, Massive Science drew parallels between cultivated meat and Tesla Roadsters, and researchers at the University of New England sexed chickens from feather DNA.
Meanwhile, an article in The Ecologist mentioned that the UK government is “considering the deregulation of genome-edited organisms in agriculture”. A press release from the University of Oregon highlighted the new Plesa lab and DropSynth 2.0, WIRED published a “CRISPR guide,” and Axios spoke with Jennifer Doudna about CRISPR and coronavirus diagnostics.
In industry news, Carisma can proceed with a Phase 1 trial after all-clear for engineered macrophage immunotherapy, Ginkgo announced their 2020 creative residents, and Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News published a piece on companies using base editors, exonucleases, and other gene-editing tools.
In coronavirus testing news, UC Davis scientists received a $1.2M NIH grant to “create mice that are susceptible to the COVID-19 virus,” Oxford Nanopore launched LamPORE, and Ginkgo, Mammoth, and others were among winners of $250M NIH award to scale up COVID-19 testing.

This week in research…

Controlling Engineered T-cells with Ultrasound
In the latest work from the Shapiro lab at Caltech, published in ACS Synthetic Biology, T-cells with engineered heat shock promoters were controlled “with brief pulses of heat delivered by focused ultrasound,” inducing them to release cytokines and target tumor cells.
Automated Genetic Circuit Design for Yeast
At MIT, the Voigt lab has constructed nine NOT/NOR gates, with a 400-fold dynamic range, in S. cerevisiae. With these gates in hand, they then used Cello 2.0, a software to design genetic circuits, to “build circuits with up to 11 regulatory proteins.” The study could dramatically simplify circuit design for eukaryotic synthetic biology, and was published in Nature Microbiology.
Automated Cell Culture System with DIY Hardware (Open Access)
With some printed circuit boards and off-the-shelf components, costing about $300, a team at Oxford has created a cell culture automation system with several useful features; the device can measure and record cell growth, and the seven-color LEDs can be used to measure multiple fluorescent proteins in parallel, or for optogenetics. The system, called Chi.Bio, was published in PLoS Biology.
For more on this study, check out my interview with the lead author, Dr. Harrison Steel.
Phase Separation in Human Cells with “Designer” Disordered Proteins
The Chilkoti lab at Duke University has designed a set of artificial, intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) that can be used to engineer intracellular condensates in living cells. In a new study, published in Nature Chemistry, they show that the behavior of the engineered condensates are predictable, and can be tuned by controlling the mass and structure of the IDPs. Chilkoti said in a Duke press release that this study “provides very simple engineering principles to program this behavior [intracellular condensates] within a cell.”
Chemicals Stymie CRISPR Gene Drives
At Yonsei University, in Seoul, South Korea, the Kim lab has developed a chemical method to control CRISPR-based gene drives in Drosophila fruit flies. Using a site-specific recombinase induced by a chemical, called RU486, they demonstrate a gene drive removal rate of 7-12% in each generation. The work was published in ACS Synthetic Biology.

2020.07.14 02:36 Cairo-TenThirteen Nine months of LOA – A list of my successes + my techniques

TL;DR: at bottom
I’ve been doing LOA (with a HUGE focus on Neville Goddard’s teachings) since mid-October, which was around the time that I first ever heard about the Law. Since then I’ve been following it very regularly, although there were some days where I wasn’t as attentive and persistent as a should have been, so really I imagine someone more committed than me could reach my successes faster than I did.
Anyway, let me give a rundown of how things changed in my life since following Neville’s teachings, and a bit of info on my techniques.
Firstly, note that some of these successes arrived at around the same time: July this year. Before this month I wasn’t seeing a great deal of success. Persistence really was key imo.
Let's get into it.

Academic success:

I just finished my university degree and I got my results around 5 days ago. I managed to get a 71% altogether, which is a First Class Honours in the UK (which is sorta like getting an A). If I had gotten a 68%, I would have gotten a 2.1 (which would be a B grade). I’m not a bad student by any means, but getting above a 70% was never a guarantee for me.
My technique for this was to write down what I wanted in my notepad by hand. I wrote my affirmations (“I got a great grade”) maybe three times a day in my notepad. I wrote in the past tense because I read that it reaffirms that the thing has already happened and that you’re only waiting for it to materialise in the physical world. I found great success doing this. When I wrote this down, I would focus extremely hard on the handwriting, not necessarily to make it look legible or anything, but more so as a way of showing that I was taking my manifestations seriously. Sort of a way of showing that I wasn’t flippantly just jotting stuff down but making sure that my writing felt important.
Wrote this almost daily, but I wrote it even more on the days when I knew I was gonna get my marks from individual essays and exams, and also I wrote it many many times on the day I knew I was gonna get my final grade announced.
On one particular essay I even managed to get a 95%, the highest mark of the class and the first time I ever got a mark higher than 70%.
On the day I got my results, before I actually opened the email that would tell me my score, I meditated for just five minutes (I’m not a huge fan of meditation so I rarely do it).
I also focused hard on visualising my results. I knew my degree results would appear in an email, so I constantly imagined myself looking at a white computer screen with a big “90%” written in the centre. I got a 71%, not a 90%, but I think this still helped nonetheless.

Relationship success

The main reason I took an interest in LOA was because I wanted to be in relationship. It was my primary focus for a long time. I’m not ugly or anything, but I have always struggled with confidence and being flirtatious. I have extremely limited knowledge of sex and relationships. However, that has changed quite a bit now. It was slow at first. I tried flirting with a few women at uni but I never managed to score a date. I also signed up to some dating apps (Hinge + Tinder). I never got a date out of them but I got maybe 20 matches altogether (which might be a low number for some but it was impressive for me).
Anyway, fast forward to July, and things changed A LOT. I met this woman through my friends who found me very cute and decided that she wanted to be in a “friends with benefits” type of situation. I found her very attractive too, so we began doing that. I’d never done a fwb thing before so I was hella nervous and inexperienced but she was really kind and patient and made the whole thing a lot less awkward. She seems like a genuine friend.
Every day I wrote my affirmation (“I am in a sexual relationship”) multiple times a day. Usually at night. Sometimes I’d switched it up and wrote “I am in a romantic relationship”. This is a strange manifestation because really I would have preferred to be dating somebody rather than being a fwb, but I’m not disappointed with the outcome. I still consider this to be a success story and a manifestation nonetheless. I get along with this woman very well and I enjoy her company so I think this is a win.
Most nights I would also do my SATs. I would imagine myself holding hands with somebody who I cared for and who cared for me. I never had a specific person in mind, so I never imagined any particular person, only somebody sensually holding my hand.
On the note of masturbation: I hear a lot of people say that masturbation can impede on their progress. This might be true, and could be a contributing factor as to why it took nine months to see any real success, but I never really abstained from masturbation. I did, however cut off my porn usage and decided to masturbate only to my own imagination (I mean, I did slip up with this a few times and give in to some porn). I don’t know where I stand on masturbation and LOA, but personally I don’t think it makes a ton of difference.
I also wanna add to this: I don't think relationship success can occur unless you have a genuine love and appreciation of yourself. I didn't use LOA to achieve this, as I already had a reasonably good opinion of my self, but if you do not, then I highly recommend working on self-worth first!
So my successes here include various Tinder + Hinge matches, as well as a “friends with benefits” situation with someone who I genuinely enjoy being with. Not the romantic relationship I was going for but I think this still counts as a great success.
BIG EDIT (one month later): that "friends with benefits" situation has now in-fact materialized into a romantic relationship!! For the last month this was the main thing I was focusing on manifesting.

Career success

I’m a freelance ghostwriter. I haven’t really been working too much due to focusing on my university studies, but I did do the odd job here and there. Not much to say about this, but I wrote my money-focused affirmations (such as “I had £100”) semi-regularly which I think helped. The money isn’t fantastic but I didn’t have the time for a rigorous and demanding job, and the roles I got have really helped with my CV.
I am also starting a small business which I’ve been driving up attention and promotion for before I actually launch a product. Not gonna advertise it here because this is hardly the sub for that, but I’m writing a magazine about psychedelics, culture, and sociology. Anyway, I also did affirmations for that as well (“I have a successful business”). I also used by SATs to imagine my finished product in my hands as I’m still in the process of making it. This has been a really quick manifestation really because I almost instantly started to notice more visitors to my website!

Creative success

I’m a fiction writer and digital illustrator. I’ve been doing fiction writing for much longer, and have only really started taking illustration seriously since I got a couple Adobe packages. Not sure if I should really be including this in my successes as I maybe only used the Law for it a handful of times, but I have noticed success with it anyway. Since following LOA I’ve been creating some of my best and most engaging creative work yet (at least in my opinion haha).

Friendship success

Again, I only kinda used the Law occasionally for this, but I’ve noticed that my friendships have been growing stronger over these nine months. My occasional affirmations were along the lines of “I have a strong set of friends”. I’ve never really struggled with friends, but sometimes my anxiety used to get the better of me and doubt my friendships. Since LOA, I’ve noticed my friendships getting much, much, stronger and more intimate. And the doubt is disapearing.

Depression success (?)

Wasn’t sure whether I wanted to include this one. I never tried to manifest a lack of depression, but I noticed almost instantly that my depression was decreasing around the time I started practicing LOA. I don’t necessarily think this is the Law, but rather I think the Law gave me such a significant amount of hope that it jolted me out of my depression. I’ve always had the sort of depression which seemed to be caused by no external events; it was always just this thick abstract fog of depression and discomfort which made everything feel dark and unimportant to me. Of course, this line of thinking is incompatible with LOA, so my theory is that by simply practicing the Law, my depression mitigated.

Drugs and comedown success

I experiment with a few drugs here and there, but I’ve always been the sort to get some pretty harsh comedowns. I started using the Law to mitigate this. My affirmations were a little like “I felt fine after that drug”, and I only wrote it down on the days I actually did drugs. It seemed to work reasonably well, but it was a bit hit-and-miss.

Miscellaneous opinions

First of all, I am by no means an expert on LOA or Neville Goddard, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. I mean, feel free to follow what I say but there are probably a 1000 more knowledgeable people on this sub.
My only two manifestation techniques I followed were: writing my affirmations down by hand several times a day, and SATs at night or in the shower.
When writing my affirmations, I always focused on my writing and put all my energy into doing so. I did this as a means of showing how seriously I was taking the Law.
I also write down any tiny things that I manage to manifest on my notepad as well, plus I write down anything I feel grateful for each day. I read somewhere that this helps to reinforce your commitment to the Law.
At a certain point during these months, I started to notice a lot of synchronicities (meaningful coincidences). Usually just tiny things. I decided to keep a track of these as well by jotting them down, and by the last couple of months I was noticing maybe 3-4 synchronicities per day (which is insane imo). I don’t know what Neville says about this (maybe nothing), but I felt like it was a sign that things were moving in the right direction for me. Would love to hear some theories.
In terms of SATs, I did them almost exclusively at night. I focused on more than visual imagination, and more on how things would feel emotionally to me.
On the topic of masturbation: I occasionally come across people on this sub who suggest that masturbation can impede on your manifestations. I personally don’t subscribe to this point of view. I did not abstain from masturbation during this period. However, I did cut off from (most) of my porn usage. Instead, I would masturbate to my own thoughts. Most of the time I masturbated to my SAT that I described earlier which was about a romantic or sexual partner holding my hand. So masturbating became less visual and more inward and introspective. I’ve never been a nofap type of guy, but I only masturbate maybe 2-3 times a week. Maybe that’s too much information but I thought it might be important haha.
With regards to meditation, I’m not a fan of it. I did it a handful of times, but I suffer from pretty intense derealisation which I find to get enflamed and intense whenever I meditate for too long. I know it works for a lot of people and I’m not saying don’t do it; I’m only explaining why I didn’t do it. Maybe if I did, I would have received faster results.
Also, I know this is not following the practices of Neville Goddard, but I will mention that I have just recently started using subliminals when I’m asleep. I’ve been listening to the “Enhance your beauty (male)” sub by a Youtuber called HypnoDaddy. It’s really early days and I’m a little skeptical about whether subliminals work, but I figured I would mention it in here nonetheless. Not exactly recommending them as this is a Goddard-focused subreddit and subliminals aren't really a Goddard type of thing (I don't think)
Needless to say with all these successes I feel extremely blessed. This is the best period in my life and I am confident that things are going to continue being fantastic! Finding this sub has been so so important to me and I thank all the knowledgable people who post here.
Happy to answer any questions, and I wish you good luck with your manifestations.
TL;DR: great uni grades, sexual relationship, career and small business success, creating great artwork, mitigating drug comedowns, depression gone, strong set of friends.

2020.06.08 22:39 Ok_Pickle8312 I (26F) think I might have IC + something else

I have been reading through this subreddit for the past few days and created an account today just to be able to post here. I have struggled with a bunch of different symptoms for the past few years and finally decided to try and get to the bottom of it (again). Below is a timeline of some key events. I have an appointment with my GP on Friday and I am hoping you guys could help me formulate what help or tests I can ask for. I am based in the UK. TL;DR at the bottom.
Fall 2012 - became sexually active, bar one yeast infection I never had any urogenital issues.
Fall 2016 - got Mirena IUD inserted and my world changed. I developed a piercing sharp pain in my lower left abdomen (years later learned this is IBS). Developed an overall dull pelvic pain that never went away. My discharge changed and I began experiencing pain during sex, felt like my vulva was constantly raw/on fire. I also developed urinary urgency. All these symptoms got progressively worse over the course of the next few months. During this time I saw 7 different doctors, both at my GP practice and at the walk-in sex health clinic. I had countless BV/yeast and UTI tests done in addition to STI tests. All these came back negative and all the doctors I spoke to insisted that the Mirena is unrelated to my sudden onset of symptoms.
Summer 2017 - I was getting worse still, the urgency got so bad I barely left the house as I needed the toilet about every 10 minutes. At this point I got diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and received antibiotics for that. This improved some of the symptoms somewhat, but majority stayed. I pulled out the IUD one night as I was sat on the toilet crying, and within 48 hours felt about 70% better. Over the next few weeks I slowly improved and went back to being about 80% like my old self, never fully recovering but getting my life back mostly. The symptoms that stuck with me were the strange discharge, vulvar pain, and pelvic pressure.
Spring 2018 - began taking lymecycline, then erythromycin for acne. For the next 1.5 years on this medication my symptoms went away entirely and life was great. I discussed this with my GP who said that the antibiotics are reducing overall inflammation in my body, which is probably why I'm feeling better.
Fall 2019 - stopped the ATB and began taking accutane instead. The first week after this switch I developed a really bad UTI, I went from being completely fine to weeing blood in the next hour. I got antibiotics, got well, then two weeks later same thing. It kept on repeating over the course of Oct/Nov/Dec. At this point I was barely having sex (1x month maybe) as the vulvar pain crept back and the recurrent UTIs didn't allow for it either.
Dec 2019 - finally got to see a urologist. I have very mixed feelings about the meeting to this day. I felt like she didn't treat me as a person, she didn't listen to me, just recited the same story she probably tells every patient. Her advice did help me though. She advocated against the use of antibiotics and recommended other supplements and symptom management pills. She educated me on how to know the infection is spreading/not getting better at which point I should absolutely go to the hospital and take ATB. She also did an ultrasound which showed everything looks normal. I followed her advice, ordered a bunch of supplements, started taking D-mannose religiously, and finally broke the cycle of these acute UTIs.
Spring 2020 - at this point I finished accutane (end of Feb), and also since mid december haven't had another acute UTI. However the vulvar pain and pelvic pressure got really bad, or maybe I started noticing them more since I wasn't preoccupied with acute UTIs. At this point the pelvic pressure reminded me of the pelvic pain I had during the PID, and I insisted on having vaginal smears sent off to lab. While the doctor examining me said that I looked "very inflamed" (referring to my vulva and labia) all tests came back negative. The doctor also ordered blood tests which showed my white blood cell count is slightly below normal. I then went on having blood tests every few weeks until I was back in the "normal" range. This didn't change my symptoms.
Now - since the negative tests I haven't made any progress. There is constant, dull pressure/pain in my pelvis making me constantly feel like I need the toilet. When insert a finger into my vagina and press upwards towards my bladder, it hurts as if I was pressing onto a bruise. These two things in particular make me think I might have IC. Additionally, the vulvar pain / raw feeling is still there. I've had one acute UTI in May, which was MUCH milder than the other ones. I kept taking d-mannose together with other supplements, got a sample sent off to lab (E. Coli) and after a few days, with the lab results back and me still not over the infection took a 3 day course of antibiotics. Following this ordeal I am back to where I was. Given all this, I also developed a complete lack of libido and vaginal dryness, which doesn't help things at all.
Next steps - I have been doing a ton of my own research and finally booked myself back in with my GP. The things running through my mind are:
What I will be asking for are further blood work, particularly to check my hormone levels as I'd like to rule out estrogen deficiency or hormonal imbalance. I am sure that just like every time, they will suggest a urine test and vaginal swabs, however unless I'm having an acute UTI these always come back negative. I will be asking about the four above conditions specifically, but from previous experience this doesn't get me very far.
As such, what other tests can I possibly request? Shall I ask for Elmiron or maybe tricyclic antidepressants and see whether they work for me? I feel like I finally need to have a name for what's plaguing me so that I can focus on how to fix it.
As an aside, I mainly eat a plant based diet, light on gluten, do not smoke, low alcohol usage, lowish stress, lower end of normal BMI (been the same height/weight since I was 16). I have been in a monogamous relationship with the same male partner for the past five years so since before this all started. He is terribly handsome and I am very attracted to him so it breaks my heart that I can't (and now don't have the desire to) have penetrative sex with him which is something I used to enjoy very much. I have been taking D-mannose, vit C, PAC, NAC, noni fruit, and probiotics daily since my urology appt in mid Dec. Also uva ursi tea when I feel particularly vulnerable to acute infection. Also installed a bidet during the toilet paper shortage of 2020 so I rinse off after using the toilet every time now.
TL;DR: I've had a healthy, happy life until getting the Mirena coil in 2016. Since then I've been experiencing different urinary and gynaecological symptoms which come hand in hand and seem related to my antibiotic usage. In particular, I've been having pelvic pain/pressure which causes me to go to the toilet constantly, and when I press onto my bladder from within my vagina (inserting a tampon, penetration) it feels like I'm pressing onto a bruise. This gets worse some days and better to almost gone on other days. In addition to this I have vulvar pain, vaginal dryness, and lack of libido. I am going to be seeing my doctor about it again and not sure what tests or next steps to ask for other than blood work to check my hormones. Any thoughts / advice welcome.
